The TROLLS made by NY FORM are produced in a distant region in the middle of Norway, in a small village whose name is TYNSET, which is at the foot of the TRONFJELL mountain.

The first TROLL was made in 1964 by the Norwegian artist TRYGVE TORGERSEN, in an old cattleshed next to his house during a cold and bright wintry night? a night lit by the moon and silenced by the snow which had just fell, and which now was covering the countryside as a thick and soft blanket. This 'creation' is the result of his own personal interpretation of a TROLL, a legendary creature which people most Norwegian fairytales.
Now his nephew, BJORN SCHULZE has inherited this tradition of as a TROLL 'creator'.

These latex TROLLS are handmade, and the materials used are fully natural.
The main components are taken from some types of trees and substances contained in the earth. They are shaped and decorated by hand ? this is why each single item has got tiny differences in terms of shapes, colours, eyes, hair, but this makes each TROLL unique. As time goes by, you'll discover that each TROLL gets old in a different way. They don't get hurt if they fall down, but it's better not to let them fall: they may get angry.
The most fragile part is the nose, which is so long.
The tradition says that a TROLL can't be exposed to the direct sunlight, because he may turn into stone. Therefore, don't leave your TROLL on a windowsill right under the light of the sun, or he may become as hard as a stone, and lose his brightness ...

The making of a TROLL implies a lot of work.
First of all, the artist has to turn his idea into a three-dimension character, and this takes several days. A mould is made from the model, and you need a few weeks before the quality is good enough for production.
Then, the long production process starts. It takes at least one day and one night to shape a TROLL. Also, during the second night it goes through a secret process which strengthen it and harden its surface, so that it manages to survive to all trials. Finally, it takes on its own special features? after a few other transformations.

The NY FORM TROLLS are considered small masterpieces, and therefore highly collectable objects. At regular intervals, some items are withdrawn from circulation and thus they build up a special request for out of catalogue articles. At the same time, new characters are made and get into the big TROLL family.
